About

Hey, I’m Ziepe — oldschool coder, gamer, and (according to some) monkey. I cut my teeth in a time when you had to do everything yourself: code, create, design, draw… all in glorious pixelation. No fancy engines, no auto-magic — just raw creativity and a whole lot of trial and error.

The Pixelated Past is my little corner of the web where I dive deep into the roots of gaming and digital art. I’m a retro console collector, die-hard retro gamer, and a former Macromedia Director programmer from a previous life. I’ve seen the rise, fall, and resurrection of more than one platform — and I’m still here, powered by nostalgia and a passion for the things that shaped our digital world.

Here, you’ll find posts on classic consoles, forgotten gems, game coding from the days before AI, and the kind of software that built the foundations we stand on today. It’s part history, part tech archaeology, part love letter to a time when pixels ruled and creativity had no shortcuts.

Welcome to the past. Let’s pixelate.
